Hawkinson Honorary Awards
Honoring a lifetime commitment to peace and justice
Selected annually, the Vincent L. Hawkinson Foundation Honorary Award is given to an individual or individuals who have made a long and significant contribution to the causes of peace and social justice. Since 1988 when the Foundation was established, 33 veteran peace and justice activists have been recognized for their service to the community and to the world. While each is unique in his or her contribution, these committed individuals share a common goal — a more peaceful and just world. Hawkinson honorees are inspiring role models for the next generation, embodying the rewards and the struggles that are part of the pursuit of social justice and peacemaking.
Hawkinson Honorary Award recipients are selected annually and are recognized formally at the Hawkinson Annual Awards Presentation each fall. Nomination forms are reviewed each spring and recipients selected by the Foundation’s board of directors. Honorary Award and scholarship recipients are recognized at the Annual Awards Presentation each fall.
